Each Cycle has its own Beauty

Maybe it is time for us to create our own ideas of what beauty is, instead of letting the society (mostly men) decide what makes us attractive. We are what we are, the way nature has made us. We are not born with expressionless botox filled faces with no wrinkles! Our eyelids aren’t so tight that we can’t close our eyes! Our cheekbones don’t curve like the cheeks of a chipmunk, our lips aren’t naturally swollen, and our breasts aren’t immune to the effect of gravity. So what? Whoever came up with those silly ideas anyway?
Life moves in cycles, and every cycle has its own beauty. In this society, it seems that we can only see the beauty of the maiden (teenage girl), and we have become obsessed about keeping our looks in that stage, no matter what stage we are actually in.
What about the beauty of the mother, with all her roundness and softness? What about the beauty of the crone with her life experiences etched into her face? We can see how much she smiled, we can see what hardship she had to endure, we can see the effect of the cold, the wind and the sun, and we can look into her eyes and see the wisdom from many lessons learned. How can you live your life totally and come out the other end with your packaging unscratched? And, why would you?
It is definitely time for all of this to change, but this time, we need to consciously create the change we want.
