Follow Your Dreams

I know, it is easy to say, and difficult to do! But have you thought about WHY is it so hard to muster up the courage to follow our dreams? There is only one reason – the mind!
The mind is rational, logical and… a coward! The mind always wants to know the outcome before doing something, the mind wants guarantees, the mind will do whatever it can to talk you out of what you are thinking about doing, and it is an expert at coming up with great reasons why anything you are thinking about isn’t going to work. The mind is downright pessimistic, and if you don’t have great self-confidence, your dreams are eliminated with logic before they even get off the ground! This is why, almost nobody ever follow their dreams. The dreams just seem way too dangerous and disturbing to your safe and comfy life.
But, the mind doesn’t really have any power. Yes, it can talk you out of doing what your heart desires, but it still can’t convince you to forget your dreams, no matter how logical it is, because the heart is so much more convincing!
The heart has courage. It doesn’t follow logic, it just jumps into life, with no thought behind it! It gets itself into trouble, yes, but it has the courage to face the trouble and find solutions, too. The mind thinks that the heart is blind, but the truth is, the heart has a deeper understanding than the mind. The heart knows and understands instantly, no logic or arguments are needed.
Do you feel a conflict between mind and heart, logic and feeling? Go with the heart. The heart is deeper than the mind, and also more courageous. The heart will never talk you out of following your dreams. The heart will tell you to jump first, and think later, and if you do, your life will be very rich (even though your wallet may be thinner as a result). But, who cares about a thin wallet if you can have a rich life instead? We are here to live life to the fullest, we are here to experience as much of what life is about as possible, so that when we come to the end of our lives, and we have lived to the fullest, we should be able to let go, just as totally, when the time comes to transition into a new dimension. If we are holding on at the moment of death, it only means one thing – we haven’t lived yet!
So, don’t hold back, if there is anything you would like to do in your life, do it! Nobody knows when your time is up, so we have to live, as if every moment was the last. That way, each moment becomes a gift. Therefore, you MUST follow your dreams, because only YOU can make your dreams come true. Wishing on a star just isn’t enough. So, go for it, right now, because NOW is the only time there is!
