Lead in Lipsticks
By mati. Filed in Makeup |Tags: lead in lipsticks
I will talk a lot more about color in my next few posts, but because I came across this article about lead in lipsticks, I couldn’t resist. I have to let you know about it!
It is true, they actually do put lead in lipsticks, and because nobody can agree about whether lead in small amounts are harmful to humans, or not, the FDA is not going to stop the practise!
First of all, lead can affect people who are susceptible to it even in tiny amounts. This is actually how they test homeopathic remedies. They take a substance and dilute it in water, for example 1 drop (or 1 gram) of lead to 99 drops of water. They knock the bottle hard against something 50-100 times, then they take 1 drop from that bottle and mix it with 99 more drops of water, knock it again and so on. By the time you have done this 6 times, you have made a remedy in a 6c potency.
I am not a matematician, but you can imagine how tiny the amounts of the original substance that is left in the finished 6c solution – you are talking minute trace amounts. It may even be nothing in physical form left, just mostly the energy of the original substance. Then they give drops of this remedy to volunteers, to see what the effect of the remedy is. This is called a “proving.” And even in this kind of minute concentration, healthy people experience symptoms that are carefully written down. This is how homeopaths know what the effect of their remedies are, because in homeopathy, we don’t test our remedies on animals. We test them on real people. So, to think that minute amounts of toxic chemicals don’t affect the physical body, is pure nonsense from lack of understanding, blatant ignorance and lack of love. Besides, lead is a heavy metal that the body has a hard time getting rid of, so it actually accumulates over time!
Not surprisingly, the big corporations are fighting back and stating that nobody has been harmed so far, and that all their products are perfectly safe, even though lead has been found in many of their products…
Basically, the corporations consist of really BAD people who don’t care about the damage they can cause! Why? Because they live on the level of the 2nd chakra (energy center – google it if you want to know more.) The consciousness on this level is very dense; all they are interested in is money and power, who is making money, who is having power over who… They couldn’t care less about little details such as the health dangers of lead in lipsticks. Why? Because they haven’t reached the level of the heart yet.
The heart chakra is the 4th level of energy, the level where love is more important than money and riches. On the second chakra, people actually think that love IS money. Oh, boy, this society has a long way to go!!!
Anyway, it is up to the people with understanding to expose the ruthless business practises of the people who don’t care what they sell, so I will tell you to boycott Loreal Color Rich True Red Lipstick (the worst of all the offenders, with lead levels 6 times higher than the FDA limit for candy. CANDY???? I think they are all insane!)
This one is closely followed by Cover Girl’s Incredifull lipcolor Maximum Red, and Dior Addict Positive Red.
The interesting thing is that it doesn’t have anything to do with the color RED, because Wet’n Wild’s Mega Color Cherry Blossom @ $1.99 contained no lead whatsoever. So, what is going on here?
We’ll probably never know, but we don’t have to. Just stop buying those lipsticks. These companies have to be exposed and boycotted, and they will HAVE TO change. We, the consumers, must become aware, and we must say NO. NO MORE toxic skincare and makeup!!!
And by the way, all the blue and green eyeshadows that are flooding the market this summer, ALL contain substances that are too toxic to be put on the lips. So just remember, anything you put on the skin, can eventually enter your bloodstream… Trends or no trends – who cares? Without your health, life becomes miserable, so that should be our main priority!

Thanks for commenting, I’m glad you liked my article. As you can tell, I am very passionate about exposing the deceit and lies about the products we buy. I know that most women trust that if a product is found in a shop, it is safe for human consumption. Not so, unfortunately. I heard recently that they are starting to find parabens in breast cancer tumors. That should make anyone start reading labels…

I really enjoyed the article posted regarding harmful ingredients in personal care products. It was very informative, and I believe you are absolutely correct about the negative impact that these chemicals can have on our bodies. I have discovered several amazing reports to validate your position, and I think you would find the information fascinating. I would love to discuss this further with you. Please email me at your earliest convenience at tdeann24@gmail.com. One report in particular is very serious in nature and was documented on CNN. I’ll send you a link.
