If you want to know more about how safe or unsafe your daily beauty products are, go to cosmetics database and search for whatever product you want to know the truth about.

I have made my own natural skin care line as a healthy alternative to all the toxic skin care products in the stores. It is called Green Beauty Cosmetics. CLICK HERE to find out what the cosmetics database has to say about Green Beauty Cosmetics.

It is summer time, which means UV exposure time! So, we need sunscreen to protect the skin from sun damage. But, the question is, what sunscreen to buy? Can we trust the sunscreens in the stores? Actually no. We need both UVA and UVB protection to avoid getting skin cancer, and many sunscreens don’t have a good UVA/UVB balance in their creams. However, they can still claim that it is SPF30, without telling you the truth that the sunscreen only protects against UVB, and not UVA. UVA rays don’t burn your skin, but the rays penetrate much deeper than the UVB rays and can therefore create more skin damage than what is obvious to the eye. So, both are needed.
And, then, there is the chemical exposure that you get with normal sunscreens. Most of the commercial sunscreens are absolutely horrible from a health point of view, rating at 8-10 (extreme health hazard) at the cosmetics database. Coppertone only rates at a 3, so out of the commercial sunscreens, if you must buy one, choose Coppertone.

Every year, the environmental group conducts a study of sunscreens, and this year, they went through 500 sunscreens. Out of these 500, they could only recommend a small percentage. Here is a link to their best sunscreens, in case you are interested:
BEST SUNSCREENS

You must take the use of sun protection seriously, because more and more people are getting skin cancer, and some skin cancers, like melanoma, can also affect internal organs and cause both suffering and death. So, it is better to be safe than sorry…

Here in the west, we are worshipping mind (which lives in the left brain). Mind is worshipped in the schools, at work and even in life. They teach our children to think, plan, memorize, criticize and be competitive. But in life, there always has to be a balance.

The law of balance is the most imporant law to understand. It affects everything in life. If you drink too much, you end up with a hangover, if you eat too much, you become too fat, if you sleep too much, you become lazy and won’t get anything done, if you get too greedy, you’ll lose all your friends, and so on. Anytime you can put the word “too” in front of what you are doing, you are basically doing something that is out of balance.

So, what is wrong with that? I like to think of balance as a pendulum. If you pull it all the way to the side, it is not in a stable space. As soon as you let go, the pendulum swings all the way to the other side, and then back again. Only in the middle is the pendulum iin a stable space. So, anytime you are doing too much of something, there will be a reaction to the other extreme.

So, how can we bring mind into balance? The only way to balance mind is to spend more time in your right brain. Your right brain is your connection to cosmos, to source, to inspiration, psychic insights and creativity. This is where we are meant to live. This is where we are in touch with life. And the mind on the other side is only supposed to be a tool for self expression and survival.

So, why are we worshipping the tool and forgetting our connection to source? Why are we teaching children to worship mind, when it will cause them to forget who they are? No wonder why most of the people on this planet feel like orphans and are wondering why they are here!

I have a wish for the future: That the schools will start to teach in a balanced way – teach the kids how to use mind, but also how to be intuitive beings who knows how to muscle test, use a pendulum, read tarot cards and generally learn to trust the inner voice that guides us.

So, when they teach children how to write, don’t ask them who it is for, and what is the plot, and where is the story going before it is even written! Just give them a general idea, and then ask them to close their eyes, go empty and wait for information to come to them. And, as soon as the words start coming, to write them down as fast as they can, before the info is lost. Editing can be done later! This is how you teach automatic writing that comes straight from the right brain.

The same thing goes for art. Have an idea, go empty, look inside and see what comes…

Every one of us are born with special abilities and talents. We just have to figure out how the universe wants to express itself through each one of us, and allow it to happen. Someone may be a writer, a musician, a great knitter, a great mother, you name it. We all have certain gifts that we came in with. But when mind is in control, it will always dissect, criticize and discourage us from expressing the divine. Very sad actually. The mind will cripple our natural beings, and still, we worship the mind, even though mind is pure madness, and by this I mean never here and now – always in the past or in the future, which actually doesn’t exist.

Mind believes that its perception of reality is real, and everything else is useless, but the truth is, it doesn’t even come close to what is real.
In the East, they know this, because they managed to find ways to go beyond the mind. Is it possible to stop thinking, and still be? Absolutely! Mind is the sickness, meditation is the medicine…

The children are our future. If only the teachers could find their way back to their own source and then teach our children! This is my wish and my vision for a better future – teaching the balance between mind and no-mind, teaching our children to live in both of those realities and to be able to use the mind as just a tool, which is what it was meant to be in the first place. I wish….

Chlorox has recently made a new line of cleaning products called Greenworks. When Wal-mart used to carry it, the greenworks dish washing liquid was the only brand I could find on the shelf that didn’t contain triclosan.

Triclosan is an anti-bacterial agent that can go right through your skin and enter your blood stream, which is not good news. However, since everyone seems to be obsessed about cleanliness and bacerias, triclosan is becoming more and more common in just about everything, like dish washing liquid, hand soap, hand sanitizers, toothpaste, you name it! Talk about chemical invasion!!! If it is in almost everything, without any notice or warning on the packaging, it means that we don’t really have much of a choice…

Greenworks is made with as few chemicals as possible, but it still works just as well as anything else out there. Often times, you’ll find that totally natural cleaning products doesn’t work as well as harsh cleansers, but this doesn’t apply to greenworks. Their products are excellent.

However…. Nobody is educating the public, they just keep buying what they always buy. Habits don’t easily change! So, now, both walmart and our local super market has stopped carrying these products, after trying them out for just a short while! There probably wasn’t enough market for it!

People, out there, it is time to wake up!!! When companies go to all the effort of creating better, more natural products that are healthier for you and your family to use, you must buy it! You must support their efforts, because in the world of business, money dictates. If something doesn’t sell, it gets pulled off the market, so, in other words, if you don’t buy the new, better products, they will soon go extinct, and you’ll be stuck with the old toxic rubbish instead…

So, don’t be afraid to break your old habits. If you want a less toxic environment for yourself and your family, you must wake up now, and start supporting these new companies that are trying to bring healthier products! Say NO to chemicals, and show them you mean it by not buying those products any more…

My son is definitely one of the Indigo children. Indigos got their names from the color of their auras, and people say that they started coming in about 1995 or later. However, I am convinced that I am also an Indigo, even though I was born in 1959. Anyway, this post is my story about being a mother of a strong willed Indigo child – my son, who was born in 1997, in the year of the Ox.

My son had such temper tantrums he could scream for hours. Sometimes, he would end up falling asleep, and when he woke up, he would keep screaming about the same thing. In the supermarket, there was nothing I could do to shut him up, and I remember old ladies telling me “that child is out of control.” Really? Well, why don’t you try to shut him up then? Go ahead, I willing to learn how…

Anyway, he is basically Indigo through and through. He is here, not because he wants to be, but because he has some kind of work to do. He has most definitely ADD, even though he has never been diagnosed, he jumps like a kangaroo and gets incredibly distracted, so everything takes longer to accomplish. And, he is unbelievably psychic, both telepathic and able to see auras.

I had a whole shelf full of parenting books, and I also went to parenting classes, which by the way were nothing but a waste of time and money. None of those methods worked with him. Take away his priveleges – he doesn’t care. Send him to his room in time out – he doesn’t care. Don’t give him any food until he finishes the food from his last meal – he doesn’t care. How do you punish and mold someone who doesn’t care? It doesn’t work, it is as simple as that.

What did work, was to give him options, and full control. I made up a big container in the fridge with foods that he liked, and he just helped himself whenever he was hungry. When he got older, I also taught him how to make toast and omelet, which was very empowering. If he didn’t want to go to bed, I told him that was ok, as long as I didn’t have to see him or hear him, and he stayed in his room, and he was able to get up in the morning without my help. As I learned to work with him, instead of against him, his tantrums got much less.
Punishment just don’t work with these kids, so don’t listen to anyone who haven’t had one of these. They just don’t know…

Now, he has become a teenager. He is very caring and likes to share, and he has become very independent and responsible. He is incredibly good with money and already has his own bank account, ebay account and paypal account, so he can buy whatever he wants on ebay if he has enough money in his bank account. And, he is also very good with computers.

All in all, he was unbelievably challenging for years and years. I felt like a total failure as a mom, and some days, I didn’t even like him. But he has actually turned out greater than I ever imagined. So, just know, if you have given birth to an Indigo child who know what he wants and won’t take no for an answer, don’t despair or feel bad about your parenting skills. These children are here for a reason, and their qualities are very useful to have in an ever changing world. They are probably here to bring in the New Age and change whatever doesn’t work in the world, and their inner strength will help them do this. Just, don’t compare them with anyone else, and whatever you do, don’t dope them with medicines to make them fit in – that would destroy something that shouldn’t be destroyed…

I just found out today that the EWG (environmental working group – cosmeticsdatabase) is flexing their political power by trying to get through a bill that will regulate the sale of cosmetics products in Colorado. If it goes through, you can no longer call your product natural or organic, or even sell your product in Colorado, if it contains any products that can be hazardous to your health.
I think this is a great thing! But everyone else who are selling products that can jeopardize your health are extremely upset. They are trying to justify the use of hazardous ingredients simply because they refuse to change. From what I have read in different blogs, they even try to justify the use of preservatives containing formaldehyde, saying that it is easy for the body to get rid of this type of toxin, and lead, which they claim occurs naturally in the water in many places, etc, etc.
Their arguments simply don’t make any sense, except if you look at it from a monetary perspective. Why would someone choose to use a preservative that contains formaldehyde if healthier alternatives exist? Only one reason – it is cheaper than the more natural preservatives.
So, does that mean that monitary profit should be more important than the health of the people who purchase the product? I hope not! That would be simply heartless!
One problem that consumers have is that they trust that whatever is on the shelves in a store is safe to use. NOT SO!!! Presently, there are no regulations as to what you can and can’t put into your products. Even so called “organic” products can contain up to 30% poison and still be called “organic.” But this new law, if it is passed, will not only regulate the kind of ingredients that will be allowed in skin care and makeup products, the companies that break the law can be fined anywhere from $5,000.00-$10,000.00!!! And, if this law is accepted in Colorado, there is every chance that other states will follow.
Needless to say, every company out there, who has fooled people into thinking that their products were totally natural and safe to use, are now screaming very loud because they will either have to change, or they’ll basically be out of business (or get fined).
I am very excited about this development – it is time that the truth about skin care products are exposed. People have the right to know what they are putting on their skins, and people should also be able to trust that the products that are sold in the stores are safe to use. So, the wind of change is blowing in the New Age…
