A Step by Step WordPress Tutorial for Beginners

A Step by Step WordPress Tutorial for Beginners

Today, I was notified that someone left a review of my new book, “A Step by Step WordPress Tutorial for Beginners.” This is what she had to say about it:

WordPress Tutorial For Beginners [ No Rating ] 9 Jul 2009
by Laura Jonaitis
I just purchased this book, after being really upset with a prior book I purchased “WordPress for Dummies”. I needed a book to walk me through how to set up and use WordPress in simple terms, as I knew Nothing about it. The Dummies book was so frustrating, that I was ready to drive it back down to the bookstore. I assumed that it was for complete beginners hence the name Dummies. I could not find ANYTHING I needed to find in that book, and it appeared more focused on making your own Themes. I could care less about making themes, I just wanted to know what I needed to do! Then I found this book by Mati Fuller. I was really pleased, finally I was able to have some CLEAR instructions to get me started and explain all of the different things in the WordPress Dashboad & Administration panel. Now I know what some of these things are for and WHY I should use them, along with HOW to use them. Mati points out important things in her book, that I never would have known. I am so very glad that I found this book. I just wish I had known that it was available for download, as I wasted 3 weeks looking for answers about WordPress, now I know I need to go back and fix the posts that I created in my blog, before I upload it for the search engines to find and expose it to the world. Thank you Mati, you were a big help!

What is the point of blogging?

First of all, we all have a voice that can now be heard! We now longer need to read news that has been filtered and sensored. People can now give their honest opinion about anything they want, and nobody can filter, sensor, or stop you from expressing yourself. They can’t even burn you at the stake for being wise or opinionated anymore! So, blogging doesn’t just give you freedom of speech, it can also allow you to make up for the continuous suppression of women that has happened since the beginning of time. Women were supposed to be submissive to men, to be seen and not heard, to serve but not interfere, and all I can say is NO MORE! We are here to share our visions, insights and wisdom with the world!

The world has been ruled mostly by men, and look what a mess it turned out to be. What is causing this mess? All head (mind) and no heart! And women usually have both. While raising our children, we have to be able to think clearly and solve many problems during the day, and we also have to have lots of unconditional love, forgiveness and understanding. This is what is missing in the world today, so the time has come for women to finally be heard. And what is the easiest way to reclaim our voices? Blogging! It is as simple as that!

Blog away about anything that comes to you, anything that makes an impression, anything that you want to share with your fellow human beings! Life is not always easy, but with the support, advice and wisdom from all our beautiful sister friends, we get the strength, to not just move through the hurdles of life, but to also to grow and expand in consciousness in the process.

With blogging, we can reach out and touch each others hearts. By sharing our stories and opinions, we can encourage and inspire each other to go beyond our comfort zones and allow our beings to flower in ways we never thought were possible!

This is why I wrote my WordPress Tutorial – to give any woman who wants to have a voice, an easy way to express this voice. I know that women, like myself, may not be on super friendly terms with computer technology, but I didn’t want that to stop them from having a blog if they wished to. Therefore, my book is written by a woman for other women in a way that women can understand (actually, that anyone can understand, so it works for open minded men, too).

So, if you have secretly dreamed of having your own blog, just go for it. With my new WordPress Tutorial, anyone who can read a cookbook, can also create a blog. So, don’t hold yourself back anymore, because every one of us can make a difference in our own ways.

A Step by Step WordPress Tutorial for Beginners

A Step by Step WordPress Tutorial for Beginners

Finally, my new book “A Step by Step WordPress Tutorial for Beginners” has been published! I am really excited, because there is no such book available on the market as of yet!

What makes this book different, is that it is written by a “non-techie” for other “non-techies.” The book describes how to create a self-hosted blog with the latest version of WordPress, step-by-step, with lots of pictures, and it leaves nothing to trial and error.

This is a book for people who want to have a blog, but who aren’t interested in how how to design your own computer program. It is like driving a car – you know how to stick the key in and make it go where you want to go, but you don’t want to know what is happening under the hood. This book is similar – you want a blog with as little pain, suffering, frustration and techno babble mumbo-jumbo as possible, even though you may be technically challenged and know very little about computers. Is it possible? Yes, with this tutorial, anyone can set up a blog. The only qualification you need is the ability to read instructions, and do what you are told. Very simple!

Here is what some people have said about the book so far:

“What most impressed me about Mati’s book was the simplicity of her explanations, which were usually accompanied by diagrams that show what items to select when setting up your blog. I highly recommend this book to anyone that wants to use the internet to share their ideas, opinions, or information with the world. This book will be useful to both the technologically challenged and those more familiar with publishing to the web.”
Michael Brill, author of Numerology for Healing.

“Hello Mati,
Have read through your book, and looks like the type of material presented, that would have helped me when I first tried to install WordPress. For anyone ready to perform a fresh new install, you hit it right on. Even picked up other hints that were new to me.”
Thank You

“Mati’s book steps in where most tutorials leave off. She provides you with the specific information needed to set up your wordpress blog, customize installation, and make money! This books is the only wordpress tutorial you’ll ever need.”

Carcinogenics in Baby Products

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics is putting Johnson & Johnson on the hotseat these days for putting carcinogenics, like 1,4-dioxane and formaldehyde in baby shampoo!!! They have sent letters to the company asking them to quit putting carcinogenics in baby products, but the company hasn’t even responded yet. (CLICK HERE to read the rest of the article.)

In my book, big corporations are made up of pure evil! Poisoning our little babies because poisons are cheaper than natural ingredients! Booh! But, having to treat people for cancer later in life, is going to cost the society a lot more! Life is precious, and this is no way to treat it!

I know a lady who is married to someone who has been trying to fight the corporation’s use of chemicals for years, and she told me that even when they get together for international meetings, the corporations will sabotash the meetings any way they can, so that nothing will come out of it. The saddest thing she told me was about a mercury spill somewhere in Japan. Mercury got into the drinking water somehow, and all the children that were born that year, were basically retarded. They took all the children and went to Sweden to walk in a big parade, to show the world what happens to our children when chemicals are poisoning their bodies, because the world must wake up now! We must stand up to the corporations and refuse to buy their poisonous products! NO MORE POISONS!!!

Together, we can make a difference, because without customers, how can the greedy corporations make a profit? Make it your personal stand to refuse to buy anything on the shelf that contains poisonous chemicals. Give the corporations the message, that they can no longer do what they are doing, because we, the public, can no longer accept their disgusting life negative behavior! So, if you love yourself and your little ones, start by boycotting Johnson & Johnson’s baby products. Shame on them!!!

Spring Fashions are Here!

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009
No Gravatar

The fashion makers have spoken again, this spring we are supposed to wear bright green, blues, metallics, animal prints and neutrals. Very tempting, I must admit, but here is where we have to enforce some self-discipline! First of all, we have to know which color category we belong to, and also what kinds of clothes that look good on our particular body shape. (If you don’t know what color category you belong to, CLICK HERE to learn more about my new system for determining what colors to wear.)

Can you wear a tubedress with tiger stripes with your coloring and figure, or not? If the honest answer is NOT, then look for a dress that is more flattering for your body type, or a dress that fits your coloring better.

Knowing what colors that look good on you gives you a great advantage: If you want something blue, you will know if you have to look for clothing in pastel blue, medium muted blue, dark muted blue or bright. If you look best in pastels, just stay away from brights and muted. If you don’t, you’ll end up with something that not only looks unflattering on, but it will end up in the back of your closet where all the other odds and ends live.

Do you know why you have nothing to wear? It is either because nothing fits together (different color categories), or it is the wrong shape for your body type, or even the wrong color for that part of the body.

So, before you run off shopping, go through your closets. Eliminate first all the colors that you can’t or shouldn’t wear. If there is anything left in your closet by the time you have eliminated the wrong colors, try on the rest of the stuff. Is it long enough? Does it fit right? Is it tight enough in the right places? Do you have the right kinds of skirts and pants for your type of figure? Do your tops have flattering necklines? Get rid of everything that doesn’t work. Then, take out a pad and pen and write a list of what you need (and tick off the things you already have).

Wardrobe necessities
1) A couple of flattering skirts and pants in neutral colors that will match everything else in your closet. Good neutral colors are black, white, camel/tan, brown, olive, khaki, cream, gray and navy. Just keep in mind whether your figure requires dark or light colors on the bottom. (Yes, all wardrobes need some neutral colors just to tie things together.)

2) Tops should definitely be within your best color category, since the color is close to your face. Buy tops that match the neutral colors of your skirts and pants.

3) Jackets also have to be flattering colors. They should also match your pants and skirts, and make sure they are the right length and shape for your figure.

4) Accessories are an expression of who you are, dramatic, romantic, classic, casual, innovative, sensual, so keep that in mind…

5) Good underwear – yes, it matters. It makes your clothes fit nicer.

6) New makeup for spring, have fun!!!

If you buy a few good base items that match everything that you have in your drawers, you can have an almost unlimited amount of outfits to choose from, even with a fairly small sized wardrobe. This is the most economical way to shop.

WordPress Tutorial for Beginners

Monday, April 6th, 2009
No Gravatar

To all you girls out there who would love to create your own blog, but don’t know how, I am currently writing a book for you! Right now, I am working on the final chapters, so it will probably be released within the next month or so, I hope! (I am actually waiting for the next version of WordPress to be released first, so I can update the book a final time before releasing it.)

Why am I writing this? Because there is no such thing out there! When I created this blog, I didn’t have a clue what to do. I have no interest in computer technology, even though I have the kind of head that can understand it if I have to. But, basically, I just wanted a nice, functional blog, without having to study computers in the process. The problem was, I couldn’t find any simple tutorials for the latest version of WordPress. There are tutorial books out there, written for technically minded people, but most of them are already outdated, and they often leave out all the essentials that they think you already know. That was no good to me, and out of frustration, I searched the forums for information, but all I found was lots of questions, and almost no useful answers in simple English.

So, I spent a lot of time, researching exactly how to do things, and I wrote down absolutely everything I did. So this book was the outcome of all my efforts. It is basically a step by step tutorial which explains EXACTLY what to do in simple English, and it leaves nothing out! I explain what, why and how, and I have included lots of screen shots to make it really simple.

With this book, anyone can create a blog, even if they don’t know hardly anything about computers, and with no brain-burn! So, if you have been dreaming about creating your own blog, but feel a bit intimidated because you don’t know how, this book will tell you everything you need to know to get started.

If you are interested in buying the book, use the contact form tab from the top of the page to send me a private email, and I’ll let you know when the book is released and where you can buy it. I’ll even give you a $5.00 rebate if you buy it within the first 10 days after the release. In addition, I also need to know if there are anyone out there who would be willing to review the book. At this point, I would really appreciate some reviews (just send me a word).

So, keep checking my blog for updates, and I’ll let you know as soon as the book is released.

Clothing Style – Does it Matter?

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

You may wonder if it really matters if you know what your clothing style is. It matters for one reason – it is an expression of who you are as an individual, and this expression affects your relationships in many ways. For example, if you dress in a style that is not essentially a reflection of you, you won’t attract people on the same wavelength, people who can actually understand or appreciate who you really are.

I heard a story about Marilyn Monroe which makes sense to me. Because she dressed in a very sensual and alluring way, she attracted tons of men who simply couldn’t resist her beauty and sexiness. However, this wasn’t really an expression of who she was. By heart, she was supposedly deeply romantic and vulnerable, and she needed a man who could honor this quality in her and love and protect her. Instead, she attracted men who were only interested in sex. They didn’t have a clue what she really needed because she projected a totally different “self” to the world. The result was great confusion and unhappiness.

I also heard another story about two girlfriends who were invited to the same party, one was an alluring type, the other was a romantic. The alluring type convinced the romantic friend to wear one of her sexy dresses, and the whole evening, she attracted men that came on way too strong, and that actually scared her.

Or, imagine a dramatic type dressing as a romantic. She’ll attract some sweet, oldfashioned knightly type who will be shocked into his boots when her dramatic side shows itself. This isn’t at all what he bargained for, and he might even resent her for being so dramatic.

In all relationships, there are huge amounts of non-verbal communication between people. When you see someone for the first time, it is not just the way he looks or talks that matters. We basically pick up clues from everything, like the way he dresses, whether his clothes are clean, how big his muscles are, how he smells, if he has any odd habits or ticks, what the energy of his eyes are like, and so on. So if you want anyone to get an impression of who you are as an individual, you must find your own clothing style and dress in a way that reflects the real you. Once you do, you’ll attract a lot more likeminded people into your life. So, forget about fashion. You are better off finding your own unique style.
