Burgundy, Pink & Plum

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Burgundy is a bit of a sad color. Numerologically, it adds up to 39/12/3. The two 3′s show that there is a serious feeling of inadequacy, 1 has to do with lack of self-esteem, 2 is lack of communication and 9 is suppressed emotion and difficulty letting go. In other words, total suppression of the self in every way! The image that comes to me is just before the end of a dysfunctional relationship – your self-esteem has been destroyed, you can’t say anything because he won’t listen anyway, you feel like a failure, and yet, you are having such a hard time letting go! After 3 divorces, I know this feeling well…

This is when you need the vibration of burgundy. The other side of inadequacy is self-expression, which is the positive vibration of 3. The positive vibration of 3 will help you say what you need to say without being worried about whether he can hear you, or not. If you can express yourself, you get your self-confidence and self-esteem back, and then, you must surrender and let go, totally, and see what happens. Either he will hear you, and things will get better, or, you can walk off without looking back, knowing that whatever comes, you’ll find a way to deal with it, somehow…

So, when you are really down, and your relationship is, too, reach for burgundy and trust in the process of life. Remember, this, too, shall pass, and life goes on…

Pink is another color with sad undertones. Numerologically, it adds up to 23/5, which has to do with lack of communication in relationships and a sense of inadequacy which leads to stagnancy and inflexibility. Ghee! And I thought pink was a romantic color! This gives me the vision of the maiden in the tower, desparately holding on to her idea of the perfect prince coming to save her, even though she can’t communicate with him, and she doesn’t feel very good about herself. In more modern times, it probably means that you are stuck in a relationship that is as stale as an old piece of bread, where there is not really anything going on between the two of you, but you are too stuck, stubborn and rigid to want anything to change…

The positive vibration of 5 has to do with change and variety, so the 23/5 vibration can actually turn into change and variety in relationships through self expression and communication. So, wear pink, anytime you get that musty feeling in your life, and you need some change and variety in your relationship again. Pink will budge the stuckness and bring creativity and communication back into your life.

And, then there is plum, which is obviously in the same family as burgundy and pink. Plum adds up to 17/8, which has to do with fear of being true to yourself (1) from abandonment issues (7) which can lead to suppressed anger and frustration (8). What is going on here??? Are relationships nothing but prisons that we put up with because we all live in fear? It certainly doesn’t have to be like that!

The positive vibration of 1 has to do with finding yourself. Who are you? This is what we are here to find out, isn’t it? And, who you are has nothing to do with who you are with, by the way…
The positive vibration of 7 has to do with being connected to source, and feeling at one with the universe. It is only when we get the idea that the oneness is supposed to come from a relationship that we get in trouble. It has to come from source, and when that happens, you will also start trusting in the process of life itself. And, what does that do? It gives you power, which is the positive vibration of 8. Therefore, the vibration of plum can change your life. It can transform you from a needy person who is sacrificing herself, and suppressing her anger and frustration just to make sure her mate stays, to a powerful person who knows who she is, who has found her center and who is connected to source.

Oh, boy, the path is never easy, but the universe doesn’t care about whether we are comfortable or not in our personal journeys toward light, love and expansion. The only thing that matters is whether we get it, or not.

Grey & Multi Colored

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

Grey is another color that is good for business. Numerologically, it adds up to 28/1, which is the same as beige, so you are talking pasive aggressive communication patterns, fear of speaking out (2) assertively (8) from fear of rejection from others which affects self confidence (1). Therefore, grey is another color that will help you communicate assertively and give you a sense of power and confidence.

I have never thought about it this way before, but perhaps all these somewhat boring colors are chosen for business, not because they are neutral and conservative, but because of their vibrational effect on the person wearing the colors. Perhaps we intuitively know these things, and the numerological values are simply confirming what we already know and making it more clear so that we can use this knowledge to our advantage.

Next, there is the numerology of multi colored. Multi adds up to 21/3, and colored adds up to 36/9. Add both together and you get 38/11, so now we are talking complicated. There is fear of speaking out (2) from lack of confidence (1), there are feelings of inadequacy (3) from expectations that are too high (6) and also a tendency to take on too much responsibility (6) while suppressing emotions (9). There is an ability to see how things should be (11), but a lack of power (8) to change the situation. In other words, we are dealing with issues of perfectionism.

Therefore, people who are attracted to multi colored garments are people who don’t have very high thoughts about themselves, (lack of confidence (1) and feelings of inadequacy (3)). They are trying to hide these feelings by suppression (9) and lack of communication (2). They have unrealistic expectations about how perfect they need to be, and they have the idealistic view that only the best is good enough (11), but they don’t have the power (8) to create the change that they desire.

By wearing multi colored clothes, the vibration will help them feel more confident and adequate without having to be perfect. It will help them express their feelings in relationships, and it will give them the power and courage to move towards their goals, even if they know that nothing is ever going to be perfect. The vibration of multi colored will allow the person to make mistakes without taking it personally or allowing defeat to ruin their confidence. So, the main benefit of multi colored clothes is to help take away the pressure to be perfect, and to start accepting that everybody has faults, and that it is ok not to be perfect.

Have you ever seen a perfect tree? Except for christmas trees that has been trimmed to be perfectly symmetric, you never see a tree in nature with totally symmetrical branches. But even though it is not perfect, it is still beautiful. If only we could see the same in people!

If even God doesn’t create perfection, what makes us think that we have to? The whole idea of perfection is simply a disease of the mind that we need to drop, because as long as this idea is there, how can we possibly be happy? We are always going to fall short, no matter what we do. So we must forget about perfection, because when perfection disappears, inadequacy and lack of confidence disappears, too, since those are simply the shadow side of perfection.
Next, I’ll talk about burgundy, pink and plum

Numerology, Beige, Brown, Tan

Friday, June 26th, 2009

Beige is another good color for business. Numerologically, it adds up to 28/1. This means that there is a tendency for passive/aggressive communication patterns. There is fear of speaking out (2) assertively (8) from fear of rejection, which affects the self-confidence (1). By wearing beige, these issues can be overcome, so the color beige will actually help a person gain the confidence to speak out assertively. Knowing this, it makes sense that beige is another popular business color, since these are qualities that help you advance up the ladder. Combine the beige with an idealistic color, like black or white, and you’ll exude power, confidence and great ideas. By the way, this is probably a great way to dress if you are going for a job interview…

Tan, which is a slightly darker color than beige, simply adds up to 8, which means lack of power. So, if you are lacking in power, wear tan, and you’ll find your lost power again. 8 can also mean money, so tan is a good color for making money.

Brown has quite a different vibration than beige and tan. Numerologically, it adds up to 27/9. 9 has to do with suppressed emotions, 2 has to do with lack of communication, and 7 is fear of abandonment. So, when you are afraid that your relationship is going down hill fast, and you can’t say anything about how you are feeling for fear that your mate will get up and leave, brown is the color to wear. Brown will help you communicate your feelings and dampen the fear of being abandoned, and this is a good thing, because we always attract into our lives whatever we fear the most.

I have heard that brown is also considered a color that has a sense of familiarity associated with it – this is the same feeling you find in established relationships. It is therefore no wonder that a lot of menopausal women change from wearing black (the color of idealism) to brown (the color of frustrating, disappointing or somewhat shaky relationships). Menopause is a huge transition where unwanted wrinkles, sags and bags show up, extra pounds are harder and harder to get rid of, and let’s face it, we don’t feel as attractive as we used to. So, what is going to happen? Will our mate look for someone younger? He might, but then again, he might not. Perhaps he appreciates your inner qualities and isn’t obsessed with how many lines you have around your eyes. Or, maybe you just don’t know what is going to happen. So, when you find yourself facing the unknown while going through great transitions, the color brown will help you overcome the scary feelings of not knowing where you life is going next.
Tomorrow, I’ll talk about grey, multi colored and burgundy.

Green, Blue and Purple

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

Green is normally seen as a healing color, but the numerology reveals what kind of healing it covers. The numerology of green adds up to 31/4, which means that inadequacy (3) and low self esteem (1) leads to procrastination, stubbornness and control issues (4). So, the healing vibration of green helps you feel more adequate, better self esteem and more in control of your life, without nessecarily dragging your feet or being in control of others. In other words, it brings you into a state of balance, and when there is balance, healing happens, but the healing we are talking about is mainly the healing of the self.

The numerology of blue adds up to 13/4, which is very similar to the issues that we see in the numerology of green – lack of confidence, lack of self esteem, control issues and procrastination. Now, blue is a color that has traditionally been used in business a lot, hence the name “blue-collar.” In business, you have to be confident and have lots of self esteem if you want to get anywhere, and if you start postponing things, you’ll most likely end up getting fired. Therefore, the color blue is good for business since it promotes confidence, self esteem and getting the work done.

Purple is considered a spiritual color which is also reflected in the numerological vibration. Numerologically, it adds up to 34/7. There is a feeling of inadequacy (3) and lack of control (4), which leads to vulnerability and a fear of abandonment (7). There is also pessimism (3), stubbornness (4) and a tendency for long term depression (7). So, basically, these are the states that can benefit from the vibration of the color purple.

So, by wearing purple, you’ll actually feel more confident, less stubborn and more connected to source. The fear of abandonment is simply the negative vibration of 7, and being connected to source is the positive vibration. This explains why purple is good for spiritual growth – it can turn loneliness, fear of abandonment and lack of trust into connection to source and trust in life. Relationships in the physical dimension come and go, but your connection to source is basically your connection to the deepest part of yourself, and a must for anyone on a spiritual path, because only your connection to source can fulfill you on a deeper level.

So, why do people eat too much? They feel like they have a big hole inside their beings that needs to be filled with something, preferably money or love, but if those are not available, food will do. The only problem is, that no matter how much you overeat, that nasty hollowness inside won’t go away. Why? Because what is needed is to find your lost connection to source again since the connection to source is the only thing that can fill the emptiness. So, if you are trying to lose weight, wear purple. If you allow the vibration of purple to nurture your being, you won’t be tempted to eat too much…
Tomorrow, I’ll write about beige, brown and tan.

Red, Orange and Yellow

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

The color red adds up to 18 which can be reduced to 9. 18 means that your personal power (8) is restricted from lack of confidence (1) which causes suppressed emotion (9). So, what does this mean? It basically means that whenever you are attracted to wearing red, you feel lack of confidence and lack of power, and you need a boost of energy to feel better. This is why red is considered a “power color.” It has a vibration that can give you confidence and make you feel more powerful so you can find the courage to express your emotions more freely. So when you are lacking power or confidence, or you can’t express your emotions, the color red can help you get your power back.

The color orange has a different vibration. The numbers of orange add up to 33 which can be reduced to 6. 33 has to do with martyrdom, or doing too much for others from too much expectation of self (6). So when you find yourself bending over backwards trying to please everybody in your life, you need orange to come to your rescue. Orange will help you draw the line when enough is enough, and help you say no when people want more from you than you are able to give. Orange has a very different energy than red, so it is a much softer kind of power.

Next, there is yellow, which adds up to 29/11/2 – same as the color white. White was mentioned in my last post; a very idealistic vibration where the focus is directed inwards from suppressed emotion (9) or difficulty in relationships (2). You can see how things are supposed to be without being able to change the situation (11), and it can also indicate self-blame. So, the next time you are sitting in the corner feeling sorry for yourself because your relationship is far from ideal, go and find something yellow to wear, and before you know it, the gloominess will lift and you’ll be able to find your sunny disposition again.

Therefore, knowing the numerological vibration of the different colors, can make a huge difference in your life. It can make you feel better, it can give you confidence, it can help you find your power, and so on. So, the color you choose to wear don’t just have to do with fashion, or what colors look good on you. It is so much more than just “skin deep.” The colors are like food for your energy field and can be used as “medicine” if you know how.
Tomorrow, I’ll talk about green, blue and purple.

Numerology of Black and White

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

In numerology, every letter has a number from 1-9. If you add up the numbers of the word BLACK, you get 11. 11 is the idealist who can see what has to change, but isn’t always able to do so. There is a possibility for self blame if change can’t be created.

Now, let’s look at who wears black. Punks and teenagers love black. Why? Because they are idealists. They can see what should be, and they can see what isn’t. They want to change things, but they don’t know how. They rebel against what is, but can’t come up with better solutions. And, because they can’t change things, life can seem meaningless and pointless.
It is also interesting that black is the color that is used when someone dies. Perhaps it has to do with lack of acceptance of the situation, self blame, a perception of injustice, that it shouldn’t have happened, but they couldn’t change it? Anyway, black is seen as a soothing and appropriate color during heavy, sad times of transitions where people are experiencing things that are difficult to accept.
Imagine wearing pink, floral or fluorescent colors to a funeral? No, that won’t do. It doesn’t have the right energy, or the right depth for the situation. Black is better.
But what about white? White is used in places like India as the preferred color to wear for death. White, because all colors become pale before death happens. Just look at the hair, going from black to gray or white! In India, white is the color of death.

So, I added up the numbers of WHITE, and it is 29, which can then be reduced to 11, same as black, but with a slight twist. The 9 has to do with suppressed emotions, and the 2 has to do with difficulty in relationships. 11 is the same idealism as we see in black. So, for India to choose white as the color of death is interesting – it actually says something about their culture – it is more suppressed emotionally than ours, otherwise black would have been more appropriate. And they may have relationship issues that aren’t expressed. Well, that makes sense, since their partners are often picked by the parents, so they don’t have much choice in the matter. They just have to learn to live with whomever they end up with, and suppression of how they truly feel is a natural consequence.
Anyway, besides using the color white for death celebrations in India, in our culture, we use the color white in the health industry. Doctors, if they are not totally money driven, may have an idealistic idea of helping others, and they may blame themselves whenever they are not able to help, so the color white is appropriate for their situation. The energy of white can help them be more idealistic in their work. So, in a sense, even though black and white are both colors of idealism, black is more expressive, and white is more suppressed. Black is more visionary, and white is more action.

So, next time you choose to wear black or white, watch your perception of reality. Where are you at? Which one of these colors nurtures your inner feeling the most?
Tomorrow, I’ll talk about red and orange.

Numerology and Color

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

I am so busy developing my own non-toxic, chemical free skincare line these days, that it is hard to find time to write blog entries. Luckily, my book about how to create a blog is selling pretty well. If any of you lovely ladies are interested, it is called “A Step by Step WordPress Tutorial for Beginners” and it is available from amazon.com. If you are more interested in a download, it is also available from lulu.com. Here is a link. Or, you can simply click on the “Books” link at the top of the page. Anyway, back to the colors we suround ourselves with, and numerology.

You may wonder what colors have to do with numerology – Actually, colors and numerological values go together. In fact, I discovered this connection just a few days ago.

Numerology is the teaching of how all numbers contain a certain vibration. Vibration is energy, and energy affect our energetic body, or aura. Therefore, it is very important to surround yourself with colors that feel nurturing in some way. Usually, I simply rely on my intuition, I go to my dresser or my closet and see which color clothing I feel attracted to that day. But, it is actually possible to do it more scientifically – we can for example do it with numerology.

My friend, Michael Brill, has written a book about how every sickness has a numerological value that can bring insight into why someone is sick. Very interesting book, well worth reading!
Click Here to read about it. (You’ll find the book on page 16)

Anyway, after reading his book, I came up with the idea of using his method to see what vibration different colors have. Just think about it, we all know how different it feels to wear purple clothes compared to baby blue or black. But, the interesting question is, why does it feel so different? So, I decided to look into the number values, like Michael does in his book about sickness, and it was amazing! This system actually works for colors, too!

So, tomorrow, I’ll start telling you what the numerological value of the colors are, and I promise you, it will blow you away!

Lead in Lipsticks

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

I will talk a lot more about color in my next few posts, but because I came across this article about lead in lipsticks, I couldn’t resist. I have to let you know about it!

It is true, they actually do put lead in lipsticks, and because nobody can agree about whether lead in small amounts are harmful to humans, or not, the FDA is not going to stop the practise!

First of all, lead can affect people who are susceptible to it even in tiny amounts. This is actually how they test homeopathic remedies. They take a substance and dilute it in water, for example 1 drop (or 1 gram) of lead to 99 drops of water. They knock the bottle hard against something 50-100 times, then they take 1 drop from that bottle and mix it with 99 more drops of water, knock it again and so on. By the time you have done this 6 times, you have made a remedy in a 6c potency.

I am not a matematician, but you can imagine how tiny the amounts of the original substance that is left in the finished 6c solution – you are talking minute trace amounts. It may even be nothing in physical form left, just mostly the energy of the original substance. Then they give drops of this remedy to volunteers, to see what the effect of the remedy is. This is called a “proving.” And even in this kind of minute concentration, healthy people experience symptoms that are carefully written down. This is how homeopaths know what the effect of their remedies are, because in homeopathy, we don’t test our remedies on animals. We test them on real people. So, to think that minute amounts of toxic chemicals don’t affect the physical body, is pure nonsense from lack of understanding, blatant ignorance and lack of love. Besides, lead is a heavy metal that the body has a hard time getting rid of, so it actually accumulates over time!

Not surprisingly, the big corporations are fighting back and stating that nobody has been harmed so far, and that all their products are perfectly safe, even though lead has been found in many of their products…

Basically, the corporations consist of really BAD people who don’t care about the damage they can cause! Why? Because they live on the level of the 2nd chakra (energy center – google it if you want to know more.) The consciousness on this level is very dense; all they are interested in is money and power, who is making money, who is having power over who… They couldn’t care less about little details such as the health dangers of lead in lipsticks. Why? Because they haven’t reached the level of the heart yet.

The heart chakra is the 4th level of energy, the level where love is more important than money and riches. On the second chakra, people actually think that love IS money. Oh, boy, this society has a long way to go!!!

Anyway, it is up to the people with understanding to expose the ruthless business practises of the people who don’t care what they sell, so I will tell you to boycott Loreal Color Rich True Red Lipstick (the worst of all the offenders, with lead levels 6 times higher than the FDA limit for candy. CANDY???? I think they are all insane!)
This one is closely followed by Cover Girl’s Incredifull lipcolor Maximum Red, and Dior Addict Positive Red.

The interesting thing is that it doesn’t have anything to do with the color RED, because Wet’n Wild’s Mega Color Cherry Blossom @ $1.99 contained no lead whatsoever. So, what is going on here?

We’ll probably never know, but we don’t have to. Just stop buying those lipsticks. These companies have to be exposed and boycotted, and they will HAVE TO change. We, the consumers, must become aware, and we must say NO. NO MORE toxic skincare and makeup!!!

And by the way, all the blue and green eyeshadows that are flooding the market this summer, ALL contain substances that are too toxic to be put on the lips. So just remember, anything you put on the skin, can eventually enter your bloodstream… Trends or no trends – who cares? Without your health, life becomes miserable, so that should be our main priority!

The Effect of Color

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

The colors you choose to wear or surround you with, affect how you feel. Why? Because color is a vibration, and vibration is energy, and energy feeds your own energy body. It is not just your physical body that needs food, your invisible energy body also thrives if you feed it something it likes, and what it likes is the right kind of energy.

Most of us live in environments that are completely lacking in color. White walls, white curtains, brown houses, you know what I mean. It isn’t very exciting or energizing! If you have ever been in a preschool or kindergarden room, where the walls are painted or decorated with every shade of bright colors, you can immediately feel the effect it has on your energy field. It makes you feel happy, energized, ready for life! It makes you feel like a child again!
However, that feeling isn’t supposed to be with us for long! As soon as we hit first grade, we are not supposed to be excited and jump around anymore. Now, we are supposed to sit down, be quiet and serious, and learn something, and how can you sit still and concentrate if the wall colors make you want to sing? No, the colors have to go, or we won’t be able to control our little sprouts. We must make them serious, before it is too late, we must teach them what it means to be grown up…

Is it any wonder why so many people feel depressed? They are living in “shades of gray,” cream, off white, light tan, couches with muted colors and a few flowers scattered here and there. Where are all the colors that make us happy and feed our energy bodies? Sometimes, the window trim or your bath towel are the only areas where we allow ourselves a splash of color, but that isn’t nearly enough to energize the body.

Menopause is all about transitions, so why not create some more transitions while you are going through your personal one anyway – why not take the paintbrush into your own hands, and start putting some color back into your life? How about orange walls, red, green, blue or purple? If you are afraid it will be too much, do a faux finish technique (just google it, if you don’t know how), or paint only 2 walls in each room with a cheerful color, and leave the other two white, or plain. Go to the paint store and check out all the gorgeous paint samples – trust me, it will make you happy just thinking about it!

The summer time is the perfect time to paint your space because you can leave the doors and windows open to let the fumes escape. And, don’t be afraid of what the neighbors will say – you can always inspire them to paint their houses, too. Remember, life doesn’t have to be bland. All it takes is a paintbrush, and some paint. Remember, life is what you make it!
