Here is an excerpt:
I switched to natural and organic products until I discovered that even those can still contain as much as 30% pure poison!!! Evidently, it is very difficult to make stable products without using synthetic and petroleum based emulsifiers, and containers that you stick your fingers into, such as jars, must be preserved with parabens, or they can pose a health risk from the continuous contamination! But, that didn’t change the fact that I basically couldn’t trust the products I was using to be beneficial to my skin or to my health…

I just found out today that the EWG (environmental working group – cosmeticsdatabase) is flexing their political power by trying to get through a bill that will regulate the sale of cosmetics products in Colorado. If it goes through, you can no longer call your product natural or organic, or even sell your product in Colorado, if it contains any products that can be hazardous to your health.
I think this is a great thing! But everyone else who are selling products that can jeopardize your health are extremely upset. They are trying to justify the use of hazardous ingredients simply because they refuse to change. From what I have read in different blogs, they even try to justify the use of preservatives containing formaldehyde, saying that it is easy for the body to get rid of this type of toxin, and lead, which they claim occurs naturally in the water in many places, etc, etc.
Their arguments simply don’t make any sense, except if you look at it from a monetary perspective. Why would someone choose to use a preservative that contains formaldehyde if healthier alternatives exist? Only one reason – it is cheaper than the more natural preservatives.
So, does that mean that monitary profit should be more important than the health of the people who purchase the product? I hope not! That would be simply heartless!
One problem that consumers have is that they trust that whatever is on the shelves in a store is safe to use. NOT SO!!! Presently, there are no regulations as to what you can and can’t put into your products. Even so called “organic” products can contain up to 30% poison and still be called “organic.” But this new law, if it is passed, will not only regulate the kind of ingredients that will be allowed in skin care and makeup products, the companies that break the law can be fined anywhere from $5,000.00-$10,000.00!!! And, if this law is accepted in Colorado, there is every chance that other states will follow.
Needless to say, every company out there, who has fooled people into thinking that their products were totally natural and safe to use, are now screaming very loud because they will either have to change, or they’ll basically be out of business (or get fined).
I am very excited about this development – it is time that the truth about skin care products are exposed. People have the right to know what they are putting on their skins, and people should also be able to trust that the products that are sold in the stores are safe to use. So, the wind of change is blowing in the New Age…

For any one who doesn’t know me, I want to make you aware that I make a completely natural skin care line called Green Beauty Cosmetics which rates at 0-1 in the cosmeticsdatabase.

I have been working like a busy bee since Christmas, reformulating my green beauty products after I found out that I had to change preservatives. I was lucky enough to find a new, natural preservative that is corn derived and ECOCERT certified. The cosmeticsdatabase rates it at a 1, and it is approved for use in USA, Japan, Europe, Australia and Canada. It is also a moisturizer, and it was found to increase the moisture levels in the skin during tests.

The bad news was that it wasn’t an emulsifier, like the last preservative I used, so some of the formulas became unstable when using the new preservative and therefore had to be reformulated. So, this took me on a journey through the internet until I found this wonderful organic farm that offered a long list of natural, plant based ECOCERT emulsifiers and viscosity builders, as well as natural and organic tinctures and extracts that I couldn’t find anywhere else. So, I bought lots of stuff, replaced my dry herbs with the new tinctures (no more herbal sediment in the bottles) and now I’m very happy with the results. The over all rating is still 0-1 in the cosmeticsdatabase, and I think that this transition has greatly improved the quality of my products.

On my journey through google, I also came across some really cool recyclable airless containers that will keep the products completely contamination free during use, and also increase their shelf life. So, I took the plunge and repackaged (and relabled) everything while I was at it (and my website has also been changed, in case you go in there…) A rediculous amount of work went into this, but I think it was well worth the effort.

If you go to my website (see permanent link on the left side of my blog), you’ll notice that most of the products are back up for sale (the rest will be available very soon), and one of the lotions with the old preservative and old label is on sale for about 1/2 price. CLICK HERE to check it out!

Please check it out and share it with your friends. Chemicals in skin care products is a big problem. Did you know that 60% of the lipsticks that they tested contained lead?
As you can see, it is very important to read labels, or even better, visit the cosmetics database and search for the brand of makeup you want to use and see what their hazard rating is.

The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics is putting Johnson & Johnson on the hotseat these days for putting carcinogenics, like 1,4-dioxane and formaldehyde in baby shampoo!!! They have sent letters to the company asking them to quit putting carcinogenics in baby products, but the company hasn’t even responded yet. (CLICK HERE to read the rest of the article.)

In my book, big corporations are made up of pure evil! Poisoning our little babies because poisons are cheaper than natural ingredients! Booh! But, having to treat people for cancer later in life, is going to cost the society a lot more! Life is precious, and this is no way to treat it!

I know a lady who is married to someone who has been trying to fight the corporation’s use of chemicals for years, and she told me that even when they get together for international meetings, the corporations will sabotash the meetings any way they can, so that nothing will come out of it. The saddest thing she told me was about a mercury spill somewhere in Japan. Mercury got into the drinking water somehow, and all the children that were born that year, were basically retarded. They took all the children and went to Sweden to walk in a big parade, to show the world what happens to our children when chemicals are poisoning their bodies, because the world must wake up now! We must stand up to the corporations and refuse to buy their poisonous products! NO MORE POISONS!!!

Together, we can make a difference, because without customers, how can the greedy corporations make a profit? Make it your personal stand to refuse to buy anything on the shelf that contains poisonous chemicals. Give the corporations the message, that they can no longer do what they are doing, because we, the public, can no longer accept their disgusting life negative behavior! So, if you love yourself and your little ones, start by boycotting Johnson & Johnson’s baby products. Shame on them!!!
