Back to the numerology of color again. The healing of the future will take much more advantage of vibrational medicine, such as homeopathy, hands on healing, color and sound therapy. Since color is vibration that can affect the energy of the body, knowing the quality of color is something we can use for our own healing, or to restore balance when we don’t feel good about ourselves.

The numerology of Peach adds up to 24/6, which means that there are communication issues (2), like lack of communication, or lack of cooperation combined with stubbornness (4) or a tendency to postpone things because of unrealistic expectations of self and others (6). 6 is the number of perfection – things have to be just right, or you fail! So, if you are not sure that you can be that perfect, it is better to keep your mouth closed. The only problem is that suppressing your communication is never going to create a perfect relationship with anyone. And if you postpone things out of fear that your actions aren’t going to be perfect enough, you are sure to get yourself into trouble.

One of the worst thing I can imagine is to have to work with someone who doesn’t communicate with me, and who postpones what needs to be done. This is often what happens when a company hires a bunch of incompetent people, and nobody cares if anything gets done. So, if you own a company and this describes your workers, the best option is to fire them all, of course. But if that is too drastic, you can always buy them peach t-shirts so they’ll stop dragging their feet, get the job done and start providing some customer service. If people start doing their best, there is no need for perfection.

Lavender is another color that has relationship issues. Numerologically, it adds up to 36/9. 3 indicates feelings of inadequacy, 6 shows a need for relationships and 9 shows a need to be loved. 3 also has to do with lack of self expression because of unrealistic expectations (6) in relationships, and 9 has to do with suppressed emotions.

It seems to me that we have become a culture where everyone is suppressed. We don’t talk to each other in relationships – out of fear – we don’t have any confidence, we don’t know how to express ourselves, we are afraid to be judged on what we do or say, we have fixed ideas, we think we have to be perfect, we think we are going to be abandoned if we are simply ourselves, and this makes us angry, which of course, we also have to suppress. It is no wonder that most people die from some kind of sickness. Sickness always happens from suppression or imbalance of some kind. Perhaps, if we took the chance to be ourselves without suppression, there wouldn’t be very much sickness at all!

In the case of lavender, there is meaninglessness and purposelessness of life. Why? Because when you stop expressing yourself creatively from fear of not being perfect enough, life does become meaningless. I know one person who battles depression on a regular basis because his mind is so critical that every great idea he comes up with is squished by his negative mind before it ever sees the light of day. So, he keeps wondering, what is the meaning of life… Why is he here… And he is in a state of waiting, for what he doesn’t know…

I see life as an opportunity. We come in with a blank slate, and it is up to each one of us to write something on that slate. Our destiny makes us experience certain things so we can learn the lessons we are here to learn, but how we learn those lessons is up to us. The problem is that if we are so afraid to live life that we can’t allow ourselves to make any mistakes, life does become meaningless, unfortunately. So when you find yourself depressed and gloomy, it is basically because you are not allowing yourself to be creatively you! And then, what happens? You go to the doctor and he will give you pills to suppress your depression further!!! Have you ever seen such lack of understanding? The real solution to depression is to stop listening to the negativity in your head, and join some kind of class that can get your creativity flowing again, because we are naturally creative beings. Suppression and depression are not natural states. So wear lavender, and become creative again, less critical, and more unconditionally loving.

Khaki is a bit uptight. Numerologically, it adds up to 22/4, which has to do with communication issues out of balance. Either, there is too much communication, as in confrontation, or there is not enough communication, as in suppression. The foundation (4) is shaky and there is lack of balance and a need to let go of control (4). So, if you are a control freak who either suppresses what you want to say, or you get into people’s faces too much, you need khaki to mellow you out a bit, especially if you are in a position of power at work. Khaki will help you be less high strung and intense, and your employees will breathe a sigh of relief…

Lime Green – I love the way lime green looks, even though I can’t wear it. Numerologically, it adds up to 52/7. This combination of numbers indicates a person who restricts herself (5) through service to others (2) from fear of abandonment (7). This stops the person from moving forward, in other words, it signifies stuckness (5).

To turn this around, the person needs to find their connection to source (7) so that they can overcome their fear of abandonment (negative aspect of 7), and once that happens, they can communicate freely in their relationships (2), and live a life of change and variety (the positive side of 5) instead of restriction and stuckness. So, when you start feeling trapped in your relationship, lime green is the cure…

So, what is your favorite color? Is there any color you want me to talk about?

Burgundy is a bit of a sad color. Numerologically, it adds up to 39/12/3. The two 3′s show that there is a serious feeling of inadequacy, 1 has to do with lack of self-esteem, 2 is lack of communication and 9 is suppressed emotion and difficulty letting go. In other words, total suppression of the self in every way! The image that comes to me is just before the end of a dysfunctional relationship – your self-esteem has been destroyed, you can’t say anything because he won’t listen anyway, you feel like a failure, and yet, you are having such a hard time letting go! After 3 divorces, I know this feeling well…

This is when you need the vibration of burgundy. The other side of inadequacy is self-expression, which is the positive vibration of 3. The positive vibration of 3 will help you say what you need to say without being worried about whether he can hear you, or not. If you can express yourself, you get your self-confidence and self-esteem back, and then, you must surrender and let go, totally, and see what happens. Either he will hear you, and things will get better, or, you can walk off without looking back, knowing that whatever comes, you’ll find a way to deal with it, somehow…

So, when you are really down, and your relationship is, too, reach for burgundy and trust in the process of life. Remember, this, too, shall pass, and life goes on…

Pink is another color with sad undertones. Numerologically, it adds up to 23/5, which has to do with lack of communication in relationships and a sense of inadequacy which leads to stagnancy and inflexibility. Ghee! And I thought pink was a romantic color! This gives me the vision of the maiden in the tower, desparately holding on to her idea of the perfect prince coming to save her, even though she can’t communicate with him, and she doesn’t feel very good about herself. In more modern times, it probably means that you are stuck in a relationship that is as stale as an old piece of bread, where there is not really anything going on between the two of you, but you are too stuck, stubborn and rigid to want anything to change…

The positive vibration of 5 has to do with change and variety, so the 23/5 vibration can actually turn into change and variety in relationships through self expression and communication. So, wear pink, anytime you get that musty feeling in your life, and you need some change and variety in your relationship again. Pink will budge the stuckness and bring creativity and communication back into your life.

And, then there is plum, which is obviously in the same family as burgundy and pink. Plum adds up to 17/8, which has to do with fear of being true to yourself (1) from abandonment issues (7) which can lead to suppressed anger and frustration (8). What is going on here??? Are relationships nothing but prisons that we put up with because we all live in fear? It certainly doesn’t have to be like that!

The positive vibration of 1 has to do with finding yourself. Who are you? This is what we are here to find out, isn’t it? And, who you are has nothing to do with who you are with, by the way…
The positive vibration of 7 has to do with being connected to source, and feeling at one with the universe. It is only when we get the idea that the oneness is supposed to come from a relationship that we get in trouble. It has to come from source, and when that happens, you will also start trusting in the process of life itself. And, what does that do? It gives you power, which is the positive vibration of 8. Therefore, the vibration of plum can change your life. It can transform you from a needy person who is sacrificing herself, and suppressing her anger and frustration just to make sure her mate stays, to a powerful person who knows who she is, who has found her center and who is connected to source.

Oh, boy, the path is never easy, but the universe doesn’t care about whether we are comfortable or not in our personal journeys toward light, love and expansion. The only thing that matters is whether we get it, or not.

Grey is another color that is good for business. Numerologically, it adds up to 28/1, which is the same as beige, so you are talking pasive aggressive communication patterns, fear of speaking out (2) assertively (8) from fear of rejection from others which affects self confidence (1). Therefore, grey is another color that will help you communicate assertively and give you a sense of power and confidence.

I have never thought about it this way before, but perhaps all these somewhat boring colors are chosen for business, not because they are neutral and conservative, but because of their vibrational effect on the person wearing the colors. Perhaps we intuitively know these things, and the numerological values are simply confirming what we already know and making it more clear so that we can use this knowledge to our advantage.

Next, there is the numerology of multi colored. Multi adds up to 21/3, and colored adds up to 36/9. Add both together and you get 38/11, so now we are talking complicated. There is fear of speaking out (2) from lack of confidence (1), there are feelings of inadequacy (3) from expectations that are too high (6) and also a tendency to take on too much responsibility (6) while suppressing emotions (9). There is an ability to see how things should be (11), but a lack of power (8) to change the situation. In other words, we are dealing with issues of perfectionism.

Therefore, people who are attracted to multi colored garments are people who don’t have very high thoughts about themselves, (lack of confidence (1) and feelings of inadequacy (3)). They are trying to hide these feelings by suppression (9) and lack of communication (2). They have unrealistic expectations about how perfect they need to be, and they have the idealistic view that only the best is good enough (11), but they don’t have the power (8) to create the change that they desire.

By wearing multi colored clothes, the vibration will help them feel more confident and adequate without having to be perfect. It will help them express their feelings in relationships, and it will give them the power and courage to move towards their goals, even if they know that nothing is ever going to be perfect. The vibration of multi colored will allow the person to make mistakes without taking it personally or allowing defeat to ruin their confidence. So, the main benefit of multi colored clothes is to help take away the pressure to be perfect, and to start accepting that everybody has faults, and that it is ok not to be perfect.

Have you ever seen a perfect tree? Except for christmas trees that has been trimmed to be perfectly symmetric, you never see a tree in nature with totally symmetrical branches. But even though it is not perfect, it is still beautiful. If only we could see the same in people!

If even God doesn’t create perfection, what makes us think that we have to? The whole idea of perfection is simply a disease of the mind that we need to drop, because as long as this idea is there, how can we possibly be happy? We are always going to fall short, no matter what we do. So we must forget about perfection, because when perfection disappears, inadequacy and lack of confidence disappears, too, since those are simply the shadow side of perfection.
Next, I’ll talk about burgundy, pink and plum

Beige is another good color for business. Numerologically, it adds up to 28/1. This means that there is a tendency for passive/aggressive communication patterns. There is fear of speaking out (2) assertively (8) from fear of rejection, which affects the self-confidence (1). By wearing beige, these issues can be overcome, so the color beige will actually help a person gain the confidence to speak out assertively. Knowing this, it makes sense that beige is another popular business color, since these are qualities that help you advance up the ladder. Combine the beige with an idealistic color, like black or white, and you’ll exude power, confidence and great ideas. By the way, this is probably a great way to dress if you are going for a job interview…

Tan, which is a slightly darker color than beige, simply adds up to 8, which means lack of power. So, if you are lacking in power, wear tan, and you’ll find your lost power again. 8 can also mean money, so tan is a good color for making money.

Brown has quite a different vibration than beige and tan. Numerologically, it adds up to 27/9. 9 has to do with suppressed emotions, 2 has to do with lack of communication, and 7 is fear of abandonment. So, when you are afraid that your relationship is going down hill fast, and you can’t say anything about how you are feeling for fear that your mate will get up and leave, brown is the color to wear. Brown will help you communicate your feelings and dampen the fear of being abandoned, and this is a good thing, because we always attract into our lives whatever we fear the most.

I have heard that brown is also considered a color that has a sense of familiarity associated with it – this is the same feeling you find in established relationships. It is therefore no wonder that a lot of menopausal women change from wearing black (the color of idealism) to brown (the color of frustrating, disappointing or somewhat shaky relationships). Menopause is a huge transition where unwanted wrinkles, sags and bags show up, extra pounds are harder and harder to get rid of, and let’s face it, we don’t feel as attractive as we used to. So, what is going to happen? Will our mate look for someone younger? He might, but then again, he might not. Perhaps he appreciates your inner qualities and isn’t obsessed with how many lines you have around your eyes. Or, maybe you just don’t know what is going to happen. So, when you find yourself facing the unknown while going through great transitions, the color brown will help you overcome the scary feelings of not knowing where you life is going next.
Tomorrow, I’ll talk about grey, multi colored and burgundy.

Green is normally seen as a healing color, but the numerology reveals what kind of healing it covers. The numerology of green adds up to 31/4, which means that inadequacy (3) and low self esteem (1) leads to procrastination, stubbornness and control issues (4). So, the healing vibration of green helps you feel more adequate, better self esteem and more in control of your life, without nessecarily dragging your feet or being in control of others. In other words, it brings you into a state of balance, and when there is balance, healing happens, but the healing we are talking about is mainly the healing of the self.

The numerology of blue adds up to 13/4, which is very similar to the issues that we see in the numerology of green – lack of confidence, lack of self esteem, control issues and procrastination. Now, blue is a color that has traditionally been used in business a lot, hence the name “blue-collar.” In business, you have to be confident and have lots of self esteem if you want to get anywhere, and if you start postponing things, you’ll most likely end up getting fired. Therefore, the color blue is good for business since it promotes confidence, self esteem and getting the work done.

Purple is considered a spiritual color which is also reflected in the numerological vibration. Numerologically, it adds up to 34/7. There is a feeling of inadequacy (3) and lack of control (4), which leads to vulnerability and a fear of abandonment (7). There is also pessimism (3), stubbornness (4) and a tendency for long term depression (7). So, basically, these are the states that can benefit from the vibration of the color purple.

So, by wearing purple, you’ll actually feel more confident, less stubborn and more connected to source. The fear of abandonment is simply the negative vibration of 7, and being connected to source is the positive vibration. This explains why purple is good for spiritual growth – it can turn loneliness, fear of abandonment and lack of trust into connection to source and trust in life. Relationships in the physical dimension come and go, but your connection to source is basically your connection to the deepest part of yourself, and a must for anyone on a spiritual path, because only your connection to source can fulfill you on a deeper level.

So, why do people eat too much? They feel like they have a big hole inside their beings that needs to be filled with something, preferably money or love, but if those are not available, food will do. The only problem is, that no matter how much you overeat, that nasty hollowness inside won’t go away. Why? Because what is needed is to find your lost connection to source again since the connection to source is the only thing that can fill the emptiness. So, if you are trying to lose weight, wear purple. If you allow the vibration of purple to nurture your being, you won’t be tempted to eat too much…
Tomorrow, I’ll write about beige, brown and tan.

The fashion makers have spoken again, this spring we are supposed to wear bright green, blues, metallics, animal prints and neutrals. Very tempting, I must admit, but here is where we have to enforce some self-discipline! First of all, we have to know which color category we belong to, and also what kinds of clothes that look good on our particular body shape. (If you don’t know what color category you belong to, CLICK HERE to learn more about my new system for determining what colors to wear.)

Can you wear a tubedress with tiger stripes with your coloring and figure, or not? If the honest answer is NOT, then look for a dress that is more flattering for your body type, or a dress that fits your coloring better.

Knowing what colors that look good on you gives you a great advantage: If you want something blue, you will know if you have to look for clothing in pastel blue, medium muted blue, dark muted blue or bright. If you look best in pastels, just stay away from brights and muted. If you don’t, you’ll end up with something that not only looks unflattering on, but it will end up in the back of your closet where all the other odds and ends live.

Do you know why you have nothing to wear? It is either because nothing fits together (different color categories), or it is the wrong shape for your body type, or even the wrong color for that part of the body.

So, before you run off shopping, go through your closets. Eliminate first all the colors that you can’t or shouldn’t wear. If there is anything left in your closet by the time you have eliminated the wrong colors, try on the rest of the stuff. Is it long enough? Does it fit right? Is it tight enough in the right places? Do you have the right kinds of skirts and pants for your type of figure? Do your tops have flattering necklines? Get rid of everything that doesn’t work. Then, take out a pad and pen and write a list of what you need (and tick off the things you already have).

Wardrobe necessities
1) A couple of flattering skirts and pants in neutral colors that will match everything else in your closet. Good neutral colors are black, white, camel/tan, brown, olive, khaki, cream, gray and navy. Just keep in mind whether your figure requires dark or light colors on the bottom. (Yes, all wardrobes need some neutral colors just to tie things together.)

2) Tops should definitely be within your best color category, since the color is close to your face. Buy tops that match the neutral colors of your skirts and pants.

3) Jackets also have to be flattering colors. They should also match your pants and skirts, and make sure they are the right length and shape for your figure.

4) Accessories are an expression of who you are, dramatic, romantic, classic, casual, innovative, sensual, so keep that in mind…

5) Good underwear – yes, it matters. It makes your clothes fit nicer.

6) New makeup for spring, have fun!!!

If you buy a few good base items that match everything that you have in your drawers, you can have an almost unlimited amount of outfits to choose from, even with a fairly small sized wardrobe. This is the most economical way to shop.

I always love watching people and learning from what I see. Yesterday, I went shopping in Walmart, and I saw a lady that looked so dull, it almost blew my mind. Her hair was blond with ashy highlights, her eyebrows were light, her makeup very nude and her clothing color coordinated, but muted. She obviously cared a lot about her looks, since she had highlights in her hair and was wearing makeup and color coordinated clothes, but for some reason, it didn’t work at all. To put it nicely, her beauty was definitely not enhanced. The interesting thing is WHY? Why didn’t it work?

So, I added up her numbers to see which category she belonged to. (If you don’t know what I’m talking about, CLICK HERE to learn more about my new system for determining what colors to wear.) I gave her a 4 for the hair, 2 for the eyebrows and 2 for the skin, a total of 8 – PASTEL CATEGORY!

Just what I suspected! This was a lady in the pastel category wearing dull, muted colors. Personally, I love muted colors, but you should only wear them if it suits your coloring. On everybody else, they look too dull!

Since this lady is at the upper end of the pastel category, she actually has two choices. If she wants to wear pastel colors, she can lighten her hair color to a 3 and darken her eyebrows, also to a 3. It still adds up to an 8, but by lightening the hair and darkening they eyebrows, there will be more contrast in her coloring, and and she would look fabulous in pastels.

If she prefers muted colors, she would be better off going back to her original hair color (darken to a 4). If she stopped the highlights, and darkened her eyebrows at least 2 shades (also to a 4), she would be able to wear all her muted clothes without looking dull at all. But, she would also have to change her blush and lipstick! No more pastel nude lips – In the muted category the lipstick should be a medium colored muted mauve or brownish neutral, very close to her natural lip color.

This is a good example of what happens when your clothing belongs to one category, and your makeup and coloring belongs to another. The result is always unflattering. Unfortunately, this is something we all do. Perhaps it is because my system for determining what colors to wear is completely brand new? However, the system really works, and it works for everything – hair color, brow color, choice of lipstic, blush and clothing because everything has to work together.

So, this is the most important thing when it comes to creating your own clothing style and determining the right colors to wear: Make sure that your coloring, makeup and clothing are all from within the same color category! If it is, you’ll look fantastic – if it isn’t, your style is seriously suffering!
